From the Exalted Ruler:

Greetings All,

I wish you could have all been with me to see the opening ceremony for the national convention in Orlando. All of the State presidents in their white tuxes presenting each state flag, the soloist singing Lee Greenwood's “Proud to be An American,” and thousands of people saying the Pledge of Allegiance together were just a few ways it made me proud to represent you at the convention.

I attended each morning meeting (8 a.m.), the Exalted Rulers luncheon, two ENF seminars, and the Michigan State Dinner honoring Tom Bianco and James Varenhorst. The registration area with the displays and vendors booths were popular places. I helped out in the MMP booth for a couple of hours. Michigan attendees met at local restaurants for dinner, I was there.

Everywhere we went, people “threw out the red carpet” and shared their lodge stories. The commitment people have to their special projects is inspirational. Our charity work across the nation is awesome. “Elks Care, Elks Share” was evident everywhere. I have raffle tickets from across the nation. Hope they find me.

And I had fun. It was a great time. Thank you for this opportunity.

Please help out with the entertainment tent. This is our largest fundraiser. Many hours are already logged getting everything ready. The bands and tent, beverages, port-a-potties, and cups are ordered for delivery, so the essentials will be here; just need workers and patrons.

If half of the people come to our September bash that talked about it, we will have a full house. Many people across the state are excited about out 100 year accomplishment. Over 100 invitations will go out to dignitaries and all the Michigan Lodges. Hope you come, too. It's leading up to be a great party.
